| Practicing Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine in Westminster Colorado |
|
| Stuart Dimson LAc, Dipl, O.M. is a licensed Acupuncturist and Chinese Herbal
Medical practitioner in Westminster Colorado. Stuart studied Traditional Chinese
Medicine at Southwest Acupuncture College in Boulder Colorado and graduated
at the top of his class with a masters Degree in Oriental medicine. He then went
on to earn a specialized degree from the Shanghai Insight Ancient Chinese
Medicine Training Center. While there he studied in a mentorship program
under Dr Li Xin, who is recognized at the top of his field in China. Stuart has
over 3,000 hours of training in Acupuncture and Asian Body Work. He
specializes in pain management, from back pain to headache, digestive disorders
and emotional disorders such as anxiety and irritability. Stuart is also a Chinese
Herbalist with over 4,000 hours of training in the United States and China.
In addition to studying in China, Stuart has had the privilege of studying Japanese Acupuncture with
Ted Hall of Boulder Colorado. Ted was a student of the late Sensei M. Nakazono, Aikido and Natural
therapy master at the Kototama institute. This form of Japanese Acupuncture is gentle and effective, using
Pulse Balancing to help return the body to a healthy state of equilibrium.
Stuart is constantly expanding his knowledge and furthering his education of Ancient Chinese
Medicine. Most recently he has been studying the global balancing techniques taught by Dr Richard Tan,
which, treats conditions of pain quickly and directly. This method uses the central and peripheral nervous
systems to stimulate production of chemical compounds responsible for reducing inflammation and pain
such as opioids and enkephalins. Since sensory nervous signals travel at 65 feet a second the results can be
almost instantaneous after the needles are placed in many cases.
Stuart embodies the Chinese medical philosophy of looking at the body as an integrated system,
finding where it is out of balance or in disease. He then focuses on helping his patients to restore a natural
equilibrium, thus resolving physical symptoms. Patients can expect to receive a thorough initial intake,
followed by an acupuncture and bodywork treatment. In addition to the use of acupuncture needles Stuart
often uses Moxabustian to enhance the treatment. Moxabustian is the burning of the leaf of the mugwart
plant. In addition to heating the surface of the skin clinical studies in China have shown its ability to
nourish the internal organs, promote circulation and relax the mind.
At the completion of the acupuncture session, when appropriate patients will receive an herbal
formula to take home and drink in the form of a tea, throughout the week until the next appointment. Most
Herbal formulations consist of 10 to 15 individual herbs mixed together to elicit an inherent synergistic
relationship, which enhances the herbs ability to target certain areas in the body. Herbs can be used to
reduce pain, drain excess, nourish deficiency and expel external pathogenic influences. Stuart keeps over
160 individual herbs in his pharmacy.
Stuart believes that we all have the ability to heal ourselves from what ever ails us. He feels that it is
his job to help facilitate that process with his clients. As Dr Li Xin and the classical Chinese Texts have
taught him, the first Doctor is the patient. For more information or to schedule an appointment please
contact him at 303-495-3003.
