Dr. Alexander is a board certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine; a Diplomat of the American Society of Anesthesiologist and the American Board of Pain Medicine. He is fellowship trained in Neuroanesthesiology. In 2007 he completed his Masters of Product Development at Northwestern University. He is a recipient of the Consumer Research Council of America (CRCA) America’s Top Physician Award 2003, 2006 and 2008.
Dr. Alexander’s scope of interventional pain medicine includes, but is not limited to, the treatment of chronic pain associated with diseases and injuries of the spine and joints, posttraumatic injuries, diabetic neuropathy, TMJ, chronic headaches, CRPS, interstitial cystitis and pain associated with malignancies.
Treatment modalities include the use of physical rehabilitation, steroid injections, temporary nerve root blocks, radiofrequency nerve root ablation, chemical sympathectomies, kyphoplasty, placement of neurostimulators and intrathecal pain. After placement of the neurostimulators his practice provides in office adjustments and with intrathecal pumps, his practice will continue to provide maintenance for refills and dose adjustments, as well as, surgical interventions as they become necessary. All invasive procedures are performed using fluoroscopic guidance.
Pharmaceutical intervention is also utilized including medications classified as
anti-inflammatories, muscle relaxants and when indicated, analgesics and neuropathic medications.
